Tammy is originally from Pennsylvania. She lived in Pinehurst NC before moving to Brunswick County four years ago.
Tammy is the Office Manager for the Sunset Beach office in addition to sharing job duties of Practice Administrator for Brunswick Physical Therapy Associates. She has over 30 years of experience working with insurance in the medical field. She takes pride in her job and enjoys seeing the progress each patient makes with their Physical Therapy. In her spare time, Tammy enjoys spending time with family and friends, boating, kayaking and jogging on the beach

Originally from Myrtle Beach, SC, Lacey earned a Physical Therapist Assistant degree from HGTC in 2016. She gained clinical experience in various physical therapy settings, which allowed her to work with a variety of patients, including orthopedic and neurological impairments. Lacey has been with BPTA since 2017, she liked the area so much she decided to move to Wilmington, NC.

Amy Weisse PT, DPT: Southport Office
Originally hailing from East Long Meadow, Massachusetts, Amy started her undergraduate schooling at UMass-Amherst, before switching to the warmer climate and the beach life at UNC Wilmington in 2013.Amy Weisse earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology in 2015 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Carolina University in 2019.During her time at East Carolina University, Amy gained clinical experience in various physical therapy settings which allowed her to work with a variety of patients with orthopedic and neurologic impairments. She also participated in research in the biomechanics laboratory where she compared lower extremity joint and bone forces during high-intensity interval and steady-state running protocols with hopes to gain better knowledge on minimizing injury risk in athletes and in the general public. Once graduated from physical therapy school, Amy was very excited to move back to Wilmington and begin her career at Brunswick Physical Therapy in the Southport location.
Nikolos W Boehmer, PT DPT: Clinical Director Southport Office
Nick holds his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and joined our Southport office, located in the St. James Square office park in April of 2017. Our clinic is approximately one-half mile from the main gate entrance to St. James. He received his degree from Duke University and has been licensed since 2005. Nick has been with our practice since 2017 after serving the local community for 10 years as a home health physical therapist. He is originally from northeast Pennsylvania where he did his undergraduate work at East Stroudsburg University and received a BS in biology. From there, he moved south to attend Duke University. While in graduate school, he met his wife Stephanie and they moved to Southport in 2007. They are the proud parents of triplets (Two Identical Twin Boys and a Girl) Oliver, Jakob, and Opal Grey. Nick is very involved in his children's extracurricular activities, specifically swimming, for which he is a coach for the Southport-Oak Island Marlins, and the Brunswick Aquatic Club Gators Professionally, Nick strives to provide patient-focused, hands-on care that incorporates muscle balance and performance, skeletal alignment and pain management to treat dysfunctions of all types
Mary Frances Stoker, PT, DPT, MHS: Shallotte Office
Dr. Stoker is an owner/co-founder of Brunswick Physical Therapy Associates. Mary Francis has been a practicing PT for over 26 years, first receiving her Bachelor's of Science in Sports Medicine from Mount Union College in Alliance, OH in 1990 and then her Bachelor's of Science in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC in 1993, and her Master's of Health Sciences also from MUSC in 2002. She worked for 10 years in Charleston gaining a wealth of experience in various areas and settings including acute care, home health, SNF, inpatient and outpatient rehab. This involved working with all age groups from newborn to very old and several specialty areas including aquatics and wound care as well as administrative and management experience.She moved to NC in 2003 and worked for a year at Brunswick Community Hospital before becoming co-owner/founder of Brunswick Physical Therapy Associates (BPTA) in August 2004. She continued to further her education earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina -Chapel Hill in August 2006. In addition to her formal education, she regularly attends continuing education courses in many areas, always striving to expand her knowledge base and skills in order to continue to provide the highest quality care. In addition to management and coverage of the clinics at BPTA , her main area of treatment is pediatrics at this time. Mary Francis has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 1991 and holds Section memberships in Geriatrics, Orthopedics and Pedicatrics.She is an active member and has held various offices in the Sandhills District of the North Carolina Physical Therapy Association. She is the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education at BPTA and is an APTA Basic and Advanced Credentialed Clinical Instructor. She is also a past Board member of the Carolina Clinical Education Consortium and past Advisory Council member for Trident Technical College PTA program. She is dedicated to the importance of clinical education and each therapist's responsibility in furthering the profession by participating in the education of students.
Alexa Karakos, Supply Office Manager
Alexa joined the BPTA family in January 2019. After a career in Early Childhood Education as a teacher and administrator, Alexa changed hats to work as the Office Manager in Supply. Together with her husband, Alexa moved to Leland in December 2018 from the Pocono Mts in PA.
Alexa and Arthur became grandparents on Thanksgiving 2017 when Eleni Alyssa Karakos entered the world in Seattle, WA. Face Time is now her favorite past time, and all vacations are spent in Seattle.

Amy Jackson, PTA Clinic Manager Sunset Beach Office
Amy is the clinic manager for our Sunset Beach clinic and has been a licensed physical therapist assistant for over 20 years. She is a South Carolina native and graduated from Greenville Technical College in 1997 with an Associates' of Health Science degree in the physical therapist assistant program. She has been practicing physical therapy since graduation and has been with BPTA since April of 2008. Over the course of her career she has worked in many areas of rehabilitation. Amy continues to be committed to learning and has taken countless continuing education seminars in areas such as total joint replacements, back rehabilitation, shoulder treatments and surgical rehabilitation, balance and coordination rehabilitation techniques, as well as manual treatment techniques. She is a caring clinician and loves what she does. Her goal for patients that come into the clinic is to have the best physical therapy experience possible. Scott Thomas, PT, BSC, Cert. MDT, CGS: Clinical Director Supply Office
Scott is a co-owner/founder of Brunswick Physical Therapy Associates. He graduated from Bradford School of Physical Therapy in 1991. Scott has worked in all areas of rehabilitation over the past fifteen years with personal interest in outpatient orthopaedics. Scott is certified in the mechanical diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders through the McKenzie Institute. Scott is also a certified ergonomic specialist through the Atlanta Back Institute. He is also a certified golf fitness specialist specializing in the prevention and treatment of golf related injuries.
Melissa Littlfield : Southport Office Manager
Melissa joined Brunswick Physical Therapy Associates in March, 2020. After a 35 year career in the Banking world, where Melissa attained the position of SVP of Deposit Operations, Melissa and her husband Gary made the move to Brunswick County from Spartanburg, SC. Melissa and Gary have two daughters and seven grandchildren. Melissa enjoys her job as Office Manager. She also works with Thomas Speech Therapy Services, handling clerical duties for them as well. Melissa has enjoyed meeting and getting to know new clients and watching them progress through physical therapy. When Melissa is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with Gary down at the point in Sunset Harbor and reading novels.
Schayla Hopkins, PT, DPT: Shallotte Office
Dr. Schayla Hopkins is from Raleigh, NC where she was born and raised. In 2016, she attended Winston- Salem State University where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology. She then received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from there as well, graduating in December 2019. In February 2020, she moved towards the beach to begin her physical therapy career with BPTA. During her time as a student, she participated in several pro bono clinics treating uninsured patients, patients with Multiple Sclerosis and patients with neurologic conditions. Schayla’s passion for doing community service and helping others led her to pursue a career in healthcare. Schayla had internships working with patients from 2 weeks old to 95 years old, all from varying populations: pediatric, geriatric, orthopedic, neurologic and aquatic. Although pediatric, neurologic and aquatic are her favorites, she still enjoys treating all patient populations! In the future, Schayla plans to become a certified clinical instructor to teach others and share her knowledge! In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, traveling, watching sunsets on the beach, playing candy crush, sleeping and playing golf.

Benjamin Seitz, PT: Sunset Beach Office
Originally from Western PA, Ben graduated from Gannon University in 2010 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He joined the staff of BPTA in Sunset Beach in 2018 after relocating to the area with his wife and son. Over the course of his career, he has worked in a variety of rehab settings including outpatient, acute care, inpatient rehab and skilled nursing and has treated individuals throughout the age ranges from infant to older adults. However, outpatient orthopedics has always been his passion. Ben also has experience managing both outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities. Professionally, he strives to provide his patient's with an enjoyable and beneficial experience that allows them to return to their active lifestyles. Ben and his family enjoy an active lifestyle in the Carolina sunshine outside of work. They enjoy participating in the local road running races, golfing, soaking up the sun at the beach and supporting local small businesses. They also enjoy watching their son golf and play baseball in the local dixie league and grow into an athlete and exceptional young man.
