Sara moved here from Upstate NY. She is interested in learning first hand what physical therapy is all about before pursuing higher education. Sara enjoys meeting people and healing through exercise. Sara's hobbies include casual running, writing, taking hikes, and watching movies.
Amanda Gillilan, PT, DPT Clinical Director
Amanda earned her BS in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University in 2009, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Carolina University in 2013. She loves how her physical therapy career allows her to help empower her clients to take a more active role in improving their health and mobility. She enjoys working with all age groups, and has worked primarily in outpatient physical therapy but also in schools and in a retirement home. Amanda works with various aspects of the field of physical therapy including orthopedics, geriatrics, neurological rehabilitation, and pediatrics, and particularly loves working to improve gait and balance. She also embraces the therapeutic value of yoga and incorporates yoga poses into treatment as a creative adjunct. Amanda continues to stay committed to learning and has taken continuing education seminars focusing on shoulder rehabilitation, total joint replacement, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, trigger point therapy, tendonopathy, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), among others. Amanda is a caring clinician who loves her career, forming relationships with her clients and working creatively to assist with rehabilitating for each person’s unique needs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog Baxter, practicing yoga, walking in nature, growing plants, cooking, kayaking, and generally being outside.

Scott has forty-eight plus years clinical and management experience within physical therapy practice including clinical sites in hospitals, private clinics, home health, schools, psychiatric hospitals and spanning the age range from birth until death. His patients appreciate their active participation in any therapy physical program Scott directs. Scott Stephens was Founding President, Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapists, Director, American Physical Therapy Association, Chair, Virginia Physical Therapy Board, President, Virginia Physical Therapy Association, Chair, Practice Committee of Orthopaedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association, recipient of numerous service and clinical awards from peers and Council of State Legislators; Advisory Council, Medical College of Virginia School of Physical Therapy. Chair, Insurance Committee for American Physical Therapy Association requiring review of most malpractice and negligence cases throughout United States. Currently licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. Scott takes pride in the professional growth of his coworkers and clinical accomplishments of his patients.
Robin Morris Fortin, PTA
Robin moved to Wilmington from Albemarle NC and joined Carolina Rehabilitation in Sept of 2008. She is a NC licensed
Physical Therapist Assistant who graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in 1983. During her 36 years of practice, she has gained experience in acute, subacute, out patient, home health and skilled nursing environments. She has also been a school based therapy provider. Robin gained management experience as a Therapy Program Manager overseeing a rehab team of PT's, OT's and ST's. She also was a classroom and a clinical instructor for PTA's at Stanly Community College. Throughout her career, Robin has been diligent in her pursuit of continuing education and has been actively involved in community education and guest speaking on physical therapy related topics. She is an APTA accredited clinical instructor and a former board member of the PT Examiners Clinical Consortium Group. Areas of special interest include sports medicine, work site ergonomics assessment and general orthopedics.In her free time, Robin enjoys traveling and sailing with her husband and spending time with her family. Robin currently works one day in our Wilmington clinic and two days at Edwards and Associates, our Beulaville location.
